Lindsay Crofts is a violinist from Chicago, IL. As a classically trained musician, Lindsay has gained invaluable performance and teaching experiences. At the young age of twelve, Lindsay began performing with the Chicago Consort, a violin ensemble that gives concerts nationally and internationally. She was a featured soloist on the ensemble’s Vivaldi Four Seasons CD and in 2005 she performed as a soloist with the Chicago Consort on their tour through China. These opportunities prepared her for a prosperous undergraduate career at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music. During this intense study of violin performance, Lindsay also received her Instrumental Music Education Degree. Upon graduation, she received “High Honors” from the Music Education department and graduated cum laude in June of 2009. Since graduation, Lindsay has made a difference in many lives by teaching young students to play a stringed instrument. She maintained a small private violin studio while also directing middle school orchestras in the western suburbs of Chicago. When she moved to Austin, TX with her husband Alex in 2012, she continued directing middle school orchestras. Additionally, Lindsay co-owned a local Suzuki violin and viola studio called the Suzuki Strings of Austin. Lindsay just moved to San Diego, CA with her husband and young dog, Brisket. She is excited to be a part of KIPP Adelante and plans to inspire students to use music to express themselves, appreciate art and culture, and most importantly, develop into successful adults.
