KIPP Adelante Preparatory Academy is a middle school; it is the founding school of the KIPP San Diego region, and is part of the nationwide network of KIPP public schools that has been proving that statistics can be defied since 1994.
We have a core set of beliefs that drive our work: KIPPsters don’t require a prescriptive curriculum specifically designed for students from underserved communities. KIPP Adelante will be a proof point that schools with high concentrations of students from these historically underserved communities are actually buildings filled with innovative, creative, engaged, passionate and valuable contributors to our community. We commit to doing whatever it takes to leverage our students' assets and provide the necessary instruction to strengthen academic skills.
Located downtown, most of our students live in Barrio Logan and Southeast San Diego. We are providing KIPPsters with the tools to change the world as only they can—and as they are uniquely positioned to do.
What separates KIPP Adelante (and the KIPP school network) from other charter schools?
